Saint-Gobain Quartz is addressing a large variety of markets segments where it products fit the very need of each customer
With SilPower® the reference in short IR reflective ceramic, Saint-Gobain Quartz offer the optimum performance. It gives a reflection at least as good as gold, durable, and suitable in vacuum environment. The heat reverberated by a SilPower solution is homogeneous and repeatable thus enabling our customers to calibrate their furnace power at best to their need. It allows instant savings with the most attractive Cost of Ownership among all reflectors.
Micaver® is the ideal material for induction furnaces. Its non-magnetic versions allow an optimum electrical insulation. The mica-glass composition resists to elevated temperature either during the manufacturing of the furnace itself or during use.
SilPower excellent dielectric characteristics allow furnace makers to reach the highest temperature whatever the frequency without compromising the furnace thermal insulation.
Improving every day the visual quality of the glass is a target in various industries such as in Automotive or for white / brown goods. Glass rollers equipped with silica sleeves made from Quartzel® help these industries to win this challenge by reducing the defects occurring during glass transportation.
Quartzel felts give the very best of themselves while being used in catalytic heating devices. It has a good integrity, is easy to handle and to cut and robust. It allows a very quick start-up due to its excellent oxidation and can work with low quality gases. It is durable thanks to its excellent resistance to poisoning elements such as sulphur. It is homogeneous from one sheet to another and already impregnated with PVA which makes it easy to process. Ultimately, Quartzel felts fibers cannot be inhaled.
Saint-Gobain Quartz offers ultra-pure fused quartz powders that can be used for the manufacturing of ceramic cores in precision investment casting. Typical particle size distribution is 50 to 100 μm. Unlike standard fused quartz powders available on the market, Saint-Gobain Quartz powders are dedicated to this application offering ultra-pure products with a stable chemistry which do not compromise the metallic parts properties (Example : less 1 ppm bismuth). This commitment to Quality ensures higher yield than standard fused quartz powders and a repeatable process. Saint-Gobain Quartz powders are tailored made with batches as low as 250 kg.
Quartzel is the best available fiber product to obtain high quality stuccos. Quartzel chopped fibers may be added to the Hollow ceramic shell which brings several advantages. The low CTE of quartz allows an outstanding resistance to thermal shock. As a fibrous product it improves the mechanical resistance and thermal insulation of the shell compared to 100% silica powder classical ways. It is an ultra-pure product with a stable chemistry which does not compromise the metallic part properties (Example: less 1 ppm bismuth). Lastly, it reduces the stress thus lower cracking risks at the stage of burning-off the wax patterns.
