Satin Translucent Tubes
Saint-Gobain Quartz is a recognized leader in the production of electrically fused satin translucent quartz. These tubes are use in : The heating and lighting industry for the production of domestic infrared heating elements (grills, toasters), industrial drying, quartz sheathed resistance elements, externally wound elements, fast response pinched sealed lamps, low temperature tungsten halogen lamps. Other applications include their use in the automotive industry as cores in green sand and shell casting processes for the production of hollow engine camshafts (for weight reduction and/or oil distribution). Satin tubes are also used as dipping tubes to protect thermocouples in molten metal temperature measurement, and as pin sampling tubes for molten metal analysis
